The University of Exeter is home to the EPSRC Centre of Doctoral Training in Metamaterials (XM2). The Centre offers cohort-based training in Physics and Engineering. Through the Centre, over 30 experienced supervisors are supporting over 70 PhD students across five cohorts.
Graduates of the Centre receive the necessary training to be able to move fluently into industry and/or academia as highly trained professionals, with the scientific, professional, entrepreneurial and personal skills to help further develop the UK’s position in the field of material science and technology.
The Centre is welcoming new applicants. The deadline for applications is 30th of June 2017. Candidates need to have a Upper second or first class degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline. Studentships provide:Tuition fees; Annual tax-free stipend (£14,553 for 2017-18 academic year) for UK/EU students; up to £11,000 research and travel expenses budget.
