This week we welcome the University of Sheffield to Loughborough University for the first of a series of technical meetings to get the ball rolling on the research. Professor Ian Reaney from the University of Sheffield is leading our work on materials synthesis and characterisation developing the base materials for our metamaterials.
The main theme of Ian´s research is the use of analytical and high resolution transmission electron microscopy to study the structure and microstructure of electroceramics. More recently, he has specialised in the study of microwave and piezoelectric materials publishing many key papers. His research activities are mainly concerned with materials and devices for sensor and actuator applications as well as dielectric resonators and antennas for microwave communications.
